The Lexile score is a number to help identify the level of a book that is most likely to be read with comprehension by a learner. Unsure of the Lexile score for your reader?
You can approximate by: (a) Identifying a book that was read comfortably and that (b) the student was successful at retaining the sequence of events and/or characters. Search here to determine the Lexile score for common books. Then (c) choose the number of pages your reader would enjoy in a book and click the related tab above. Tabs are organized in by beginner, intermediate, and advanced for book suggestions with an available Gator Grade quiz.

A Lexile is a numeric representation of a readers ability to read, comprehend, and follow a text.
A higher number indicates a more challenging text, while a lower number indicates an easier text for an earlier reader.
A readers Lexile may be determined by a single test or a quiz series, or estimated by student grade as a guide.
Lexile grade level ranges help provide book guidance and when allows for when a reader seeks to read at a level beyond their grade.

Yes! When the quiz is complete a score will be displayed on the screen. You can write the score as a helpful way to record results and progress. You may choose what score would be considered a passing score for your student. Quizzes may be taken more than one time.
The Gator Quiz resource does not renew automatically. To continue your subscription for a second year simply return to the website and submit the registration form for the new year.
To update your email during your subscription email us your old and your new email contact us.
You bet! If you click the book link and visit Amazon you can read the book description, number of pages, and often an inside preview.
If your account has suspicious activity, or is believed to have been shared outside of your family/children, your account may become deactivated. Quiz links or document links should not be posted on social media or shared outside of your own children. The website address www.McCarttPublishing.com can be shared with friends or on social media and visitors can register for their own user account.
